Philanthropy
Philanthropy is one of the areas our chapter takes the most pride in. This year, Theta Rho set a chapter record by raising $20,000 for the Flagstaff Fire Department, the most we have ever raised in a single year and a number we are genuinely proud of.
We got there through a full lineup of events that brought out the whole campus. The Fireman's Challenge is our signature field event, a competitive obstacle style competition that draws teams from across Greek life and the broader NAU community. Beyond that we ran a car smash, a talent show, and a kickball tournament, each one pulling in participants, sponsors, and donations that added up to something real.
The Flagstaff Fire Department serves a community that deals with serious wildfire risk every year, and raising money for the people who show up when things go wrong felt like the right thing to put our energy behind. It also gave our members something to rally around together, not just writing a check but actually running events, selling tickets, recruiting participants, and putting in the work that made the number possible.
$20,000 is a record for us, but more than that it showed what this chapter can do when everyone is pointed in the same direction. We plan to beat it next year.
